The Mystery of the Ladybug

Nature show's up in mysterious ways - have you ever wondered what it means?
Ladybugs. A beautiful little red speckled insect which pop up in the most unusual places. I've seen a couple ladybugs recently and it got me thinking...
For one, how were they getting inside?! All the windows and doors are closed and we live on the 3rd floor! On another note, it made me reflect... Let's take a few steps back...
Yesterday I wasn't having the best day. Just one of those days where you question everything, where you wonder if you're on the right path, doing the right things and offering what you should. Basically, I was feeling sorry for myself. I was letting my self-mutilating thoughts get me down when I was having a tough week. So I decided to take control. I rolled out my mat, laid out some crystals, lit-up some sage & I smudged. Then I sat silently with my breath for a while. When I felt ready (for the record - you don't need to feel ready), I meditated for 15 minutes.
Sometimes 15 minutes can feel like an eternity but yesterday it felt just right. It sped by like lightening and before I know it, my eyes were open and there had been a shift in my spirit. It was exactly what I needed.
I got up off my yoga mat and walking over to the balcony and looked out through the glass. From the corner of my eye, that's when I saw it. The ladybug. It was just sitting there on the glass of the sliding door. Just chillin'. Staring at me. I stared right back, thinking "what the hell" and then remembered two months back, the exact thing happened on the window pane in my bedroom. A random ladybug, just hanging out like it belonged there.
In both occasions, in the moment I didn't really think much about it. I just helped the little guys (or gals - how do you tell) back outside. Then last night as I was laying in bed I thought "what if it means something more, what if the universe is trying to tell me something". So this morning I got to work, I started searching.
Low and behold, these little creatures do have symbolism. Ladybugs are known to bring good luck, to fulfil wishes or even to enlighten you about new happiness coming your way. I loved learning about what this could mean for me but what I loved most was what I learned next because it resonated with me on a different level. Ladybugs can be a reminder to slow down, to remind us to allow natural progression of our dreams (our wishes) to come true.
And that folks, is the power of the universe. A kind reminder that with perseverance and a little (or what feels like a lot) of patience your reality can change. Listen closely... with your body, your mind, your eyes and your ears - you may be missing a gentle knock from above!
PS. After I knew I needed to "trust the process", I took the time to re-vamp my website. I made it look the way I wanted. Less mess but the same content. I put less emphasis on some areas but giving the amount of love it needs. Check it out by clicking HERE and let me know what you think by commenting below!
